Kenya Olympic marathon star Sammy Wanjiru dies in fall

The Kenyan Olympic marathon champion, Samuel "Sammy" Wanjiru, has died after falling from a first-floor balcony at his home in the town of Nyahururu.

Police say they are investigating whether it was suicide or an accident.

The 24-year-old won in Beijing in 2008 in an Olympic record time, becoming Kenya's first marathon champion.

Last December, he was charged with threatening to kill his wife, Triza Njeri, assault and the illegal possession of an AK-47 assault rifle.

Mrs Njeri subsequently withdrew her accusations, saying they had reconciled.

However, Wanjiru was due to appear before a court on 23 May on the charge of illegal possession of a firearm.

TOGO IS THE WAFU CHAMPION

Last week saturday witnessed Nigeria and Togo played WAFU CUP Finals in Abeokuta Nigeria where Togo beat Nigeria 3-2.

According to peoples' speculations Nigerian Goal keeper killed the match and he was almost attacked by the Mob at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abeokuta after the match.

I wish the Togolese all the best though their Coach says he used Academy Boys to beat the Home Based Super Eagles....*smh*....GAME ON!!!

Can we use this to judge Coach Siasia's ability to lead us to the promise land? on a personal note i want to say no instead we should blame the keepers trainer Ike Shorounmu.

Lets wait for the list of the squad to battle Argentina in the friendly Match that will come up at the National Stadium on the 1st of june....it also goes a loooong way to checkmate the Coach's ability and skills....

Please eat less calories...it helps! ....it will be *see ya* from me to you

*wink*

Footballer floored female 'sexism row' referee

This is the moment that the female linesman at the centre of a sexism row is violently knocked to the ground by a Cardiff City football player.

Defender Kevin McNaughton is seen running to keep the ball in play when he appears to drop his shoulder and steer himself into Sian Massey.

She is hit with such force that her head snaps back and she is flung across the pitch.

Ungentlemanly McNaughton, 28, simply gets up and walks away without even checking to see if she is injured, let alone help her up or apologise and has since been backed by his agent
