The Nigeria Professional Football League clubs will meet on Wednesday in Abuja to review the first round of the league and look at the sponsorship tussle

Clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League and the League Management Committee will meet on Wednesday in Abuja to review the first round of the season and the sponsorship tussle that is presently rocking the League.

The club proprietors will however meet this night to have a common front before the meeting with the LMC. One of the club owners told Goal.com that the meeting is neccessary because they will have to take a hard look at all that happened in the first round with a view to correcting it so it will not recur in the second round.

"The meeting is very neccessary at this time because it will afford us to look at all the issues and find a way of solving it," the official said.

"Apart from what happened in the first round, we will also take a look at the sponsorship tussle where we hear Total Promotions has decided to withdraw the title rights given to a telecommunications company because they did not fulfil their part of the contract.

"I hope we will be able to resolve all that because the league needs a lot of money to make some appraciable progress. It is our hope that after the meeting, the second round of the season will start on a good note."

The League Management Committee is expected to conduct elections and hand over to a properly elected board in September.
